THE WOLCOTT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS PARTNERING WITH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE
NOVEMBER 1, 2024 - Bristol, Conn. – “Our board has decided to join forces with the regional chamber in order to maximize visibility for our membership, and at the same time, work cooperatively with five fellow communities in this regional chamber,” said Wolcott Chamber president Roger Picard. “We feel the decision is timely and proactive in today’s business culture, one that makes sense in an age when regionalizing services is more effective, financially feasible and will underscore the positive business climate in Wolcott.”
The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce membership includes businesses in Bristol, Burlington, Farmington, Plainville, Plymouth, Wolcott, and beyond. Based in Bristol, the organization provides support and services in areas including legislative changes, economic & workforce development, business advocacy and community development.
“Besides a broader reach and more services for our membership, joining the regional agency will provide much needed office support for our growing chamber,” said Picard about the Wolcott group that now has more than 65 members.
Established in 2003, the regional group is recognized as one of the largest chambers in the state of Connecticut. Dues structure for current Wolcott members will not be affected with the change that is effective January 1, 2025.
“We welcome the Wolcott Chamber of Commerce to the regional Central CT Chambers of Commerce and look forward to supporting the Wolcott business community in the same manner as Bristol, Burlington, Farmington, Plainville, and Plymouth.” said Board Chair, Christine Malay, Director of Sales & Catering for DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol and Home2 Suites by Hilton Bristol.
Katie D’Agostino, President and CEO for the Central Connecticut organization said the addition of Wolcott to the regional chamber, serves to enhance both entities. “We are excited to deepen our relationship with the Wolcott Chamber membership,” she said. “We will continue to offer programs, events and advocacy expected from a regional chamber.”
